Having grown up in Belmont Shore, I truly believe this area is one of Southern California's greatest last secrets. Where else can you live on the Pacific Ocean with Alamitos Bay and Second street all within walking distance. Not to mention all of the local acivities from sports to entertainment. We are spoiled with all of these choices at our doorstep each day. We have Palm Springs, Big Bear, Mexico and Santa Barbara all within an easy 2 hour senic drive. Not to mention Avalon on Catalina Island, our slice of a European ocean front village.
Our kids can go from pre-school to Cal State Long Beach and not even leave the area. There are a multitude of acitivities for all ages. Long Beach has one of the largest Parks and Recreation departments in the nation including multiple golf courses, public and private yacht clubs and sailing centers, beautiful tennis courts and thats just the tip of the ice berg. Plus it has the largest public marina system in the nation.
